Salade de Betteraves Cuites/Cooked Beetroot Salad

French cuisine have numerous salads and salad have their important place in every get together or else in everyone's daily meal. From traditional salads to innovative salads, French chefs never failed to surprise us or make us awestruck by creating many beautiful catchy salads. Obviously when i was searching for a recipe from French cuisine for 'S' i didnt hesitate a second to make some chilled salad for our weekend lunch. My today's recipe is cooked beetroot served chilled as salad with some crushed walnuts and a creamy yogurt sauce spiced simply with some herbs and pepper, salt. Trust me the nuttiness of walnut and the crunchiness of cooked beets will definitely satisfy your tastebuds.

Though we can easily get already prepared,cooked beetroots from every vegetable stall, i love to prepare myself at home. Once cleaned, peeled and cooked beetroots is ready, you can dish out this simple, nutty,slightly sweet salad with beetroots during anytime of the day. You can simply serve this salad before a meal as a salad or else as a main dish to have if you are in diet. You can add any nuts after roasting them, however my choice is always Walnuts. Walnuts added to this chilled salad will definitely satisfy your tastebuds and brings the crunchiness to this fantastic salad. You can quickly prepare this healthy salad with less efforts.And this catchy salad is going to this month's blogging marathon with Journey through the cuisine as theme and am cooking from French cuisine.

Cooked beets salad, salade de betteraves cuites

4nos Cooked beetroot
Crushed Walnuts

Creamy Yogurt sauce:
3tbsp Thick cream
1/4cup Yogurt
Chopped parsley leaves
Pepper powder
Salt

Add the chopped parsley leaves, pepper powder, salt to the yogurt, thick cream, mix well and keep in fridge.

Slice the cooked beetroots and keep in fridge for an hour.

While serving, layer the beetroot slices, top it with crushed walnuts and drizzle the sauce before serving.

Enjoy and this salad is a prefect meal for summer days.
