You might have heard about the famous Kashmiri naan stuffed with dry fruits but my today's recipe goes for orange flavoured sweet naan. I dished out this orange flavoured sweet naan as i got orange and butter as my secret ingredients for this month's Shhhh Cooking Secretly Challenge an interesting event started by me and my partner of this month is Shailaja of Sahasra Recipes. Every month i combine a pair with the members of the group, later they exchange two secret ingredients between them and they will come up with their dishes prepared either with one or else with both their secret ingredients.
We are having fun in guessing other's secret ingredients through the pictures each of us have been sharing in our FB group. Making a delicious dish out of the secret ingredients is definitely a challenging task and am very happy to say that the members of this group just rocks.
Since this naan is a sweet one,you can just have with jam or else with nutella. While my kids enjoyed this orange flavoured sweet naan with nutella, i couldnt resist myself to have this naan with some jam. I have to say a big thanks to Shailaja to pulling me to think beyond my limits.
2cups All purpose flour
1tbsp Orange zest
1/2cup Orange juice
1tsp Instant Yeast
1/2cup Luke Warm milk
1/2cup Sugar
1/4tsp Salt
Butter (for brushing)
Take the flour, yeast, sugar, salt, orange zest in a bowl.
Now add gradually the luke warm milk, orange juice and turn everything as a smooth and soft dough.
Arrange the dough in a bowl, cover it with a damp cloth.
Keep in a warm place for an hour.
Once the dough gets rised, punch down and knead again for few minutes.
Divide the dough as 5 medium sized balls.
Slightly flatten the dough, slowly and gently roll it as a oblong or oval shaped dish with a rolling pin.
Heat the tawa in high flame.
Brush some water on one side of the naan.
Drop immediately water brushed side of the naan to the hot tawa.
Once its gets cooked, flip the naan and cook the other side.
Remove the cooked naan from the tawa..
Brush the naan with butter.
Serve with jam or nutella.
