Matar Kaju Masala/Green Peas & Cashew Nut Masala

Yes my today's post is all about a Gourmet gravy with a smooth texture prepared with green peas and cashew nuts. If you love nuts in your gravy, trust me you will definitely fell in love with this fingerlicking goodness gravy. Though this masala is quite easy to dish out, the taste of this gourmet gravy will definitely please your tastebuds. Matar kaju masala, Cashew Green Peas Masala

After two delicious gourmet gravies, my today's post is also going to this week's blogging marathon as am running with Gourmet gravies as this week's theme. This lipsmacking gravy served with naans together tastes absolutely delicious, trust me this dish is a real feast for whoever loves gravies with nuts. With mild sour taste and reddish creamy colour, this dish will definitely have an important place in many party menus.You can follow the same preparation if you want to make this same masala with different ingredients and vegetables, however this gravy makes an excellent side dish for any rice or rotis. Everyone at home will definitely enjoy thoroughly this masala.

Cashew Green Peas Curry, Kaju Matar Curry

1cup Green peas (cooked)
1/2cup Cashew nuts (soaked in warm water for half an hour)
1cup Tomato pieces (ripen)
1cup Onion (grounded as fine paste)
1tsp Ginger garlic paste
1/2tsp Cumin seeds
1tsp Red chilly powder
3/4tsp Garam masala powder
1tbsp Kasuri methi( dry fenugreek leaves)
1/4cup Fresh Cream
1/2tsp Cumin seeds
Bay leaf
Salt
3tbsp Butter

Grind the chopped tomato pieces, cumin seeds, red chilly powder and garam masala powder as fine paste with enough water, keep aside.

Heat the butter, fry the cumin seeds, bay leaf until its turns brown.

Add the onion paste, cook for few minutes, add immediately the ginger-garlic paste until the raw smell goes off.

Add the grounded paste, saute everything well until the raw smells goes away. Now add the cooked green peas, soaked kaju and cook for few minutes.

Add immediately the crushed kasuri methi leaves, salt, cream.

Cook for few minutes, add enough water to the gravy to turn thick..

Serve hot as side dish for rotis, parathas or naans.
